Oldenburg, Grand Duchy. A Friedrich August Cross, I Class Auction Unusual grouping(Friedrich August Kreuz, I. Klasse). Instituted 24 September 1914 by Grand Duke Friedrich August. (1914 1918 issue). Constructed of blackened magnetic iron, consisting of a Cross Patte with its arms joined through the quadrants by a circular laurel leaf wreath, the obverse bearing a central monogram of Grand Duke Friedrich August, the six oclock arm bearing an institution date of 1914, the twelve oclock arm bearing a royal crown, the reverse with a
