Consisting of a round silver medal, suspended from a single toe clasp suspension with a Sebastopol campaign bar from its period original ribbon, the obverse with a leftward facing effigy of Queen Victoria, circumscribed Victoria Regina in capital letters, the reverse depicting a standing Roman warrior about to received a laurel crown from a flying figure of victoria along with the word Crimea
