A Rare 248th Infantry Battalion Officer's Cap Badge United Republic of Ink spattered watermark over theIn pickled brass, voided, with heavily toned silver overlay, unmarked, measuring 52 mm (w) x 45. 5 mm (h), both lugs intact, very light contact, near extremely fine. Footnote: The Battalion was raised in Central Ontario with mobilization headquarters at Owen Sound under the authority of G. O. 48, May 1, 1917. The Battalion sailed June 2, 1917 under the command of Lieutenant Colonel J. H. Rorke with a strength of 13 officers and 259 other ranks. In
