Miniature Crystalline Red & Blue Jar II P08835-P00007 then altered by cutting itThis miniature jar was hand thrown on the wheel in high quality porcelain and displays a red and blue crystalline glaze. Fired in an oxidation atmosphere in an electric kiln, crystalline glazes are fired at high temperature until they turn molten and begin to run down the surface of the pot; the piece is then cooled, stopping the glaze from running, and causing crystals to grow on the exterior.
