Black dot paste was made to simulate early cut diamonds and is recognizable by the tiny black dot in the center of each stone. Paste was a popular cut glass stone introduced near the second half of the Georgian period (1714 to 1837) and maintained popularity through the Victorian era (1837 to 1901).
