The candlesticks are constructed from wrapped slabs of stoneware clay for the green and terracotta clay for the red. The green glaze is created by the layering of metallic oxides with a barium mat glaze. The red glaze is new and relies on the layering of underglazes, a base glaze and overglaze stains.
