The original was excavated in France (likely found at the site of the Battle of Castillon la Bataille in 1453). The one handed sword belongs to a group of more than eighty swords discovered at the same location and has been part of the collection of the Royal Armouries since 1984, object number IX. 2638. This medieval arming sword features a single edged, thin, and remarkably broad
