The vessel is first wheel thrown and trimmed, and then a sculpted bee is added to the neck of the vase. The bee is meticulously etched with veins in its wings and tiny hairs on its body. The vessel is then bisque fired before the swirling blue and ivory glaze is manipulated to resemble swirling clouds in a deep blue sky. The vase is finished inside and out with three layers of a clear gloss
